MyOnlineSchooling - mainstream schooling blended with home-education

If you like the new form of education that Dekko Comics offer, then this is a new form of schooling worth your attention.

Are you looking for a home-based alternative to mainstream school? Now more than ever, families are searching for flexible education options that still provide that much-needed structure and support. My Online Schooling offers a fantastic solution that blends the best of what both mainstream and home education have to offer.

They provide a complete English National Curriculum education online for children and young people from Key Stage 2 right through to International GCSEs and A-Levels. All My Online Schooling lessons are taught live in virtual classrooms by experienced subject specialist teachers, giving your child the flexibility to receive an excellent education from home.

Like Dekko, My Online Schooling understands that education is never one-size-fits-all. Recent statistics show that more than 15% of pupils in England require some level of SEN support. What’s more, more than 12% of 5-19-year olds are thought to experience at least one mental health condition. Without appropriate understanding and action, these challenges can quickly become barriers to learning, resulting in further mental health issues or school refusal.

At My Online Schooling, the goal is to ensure that no child misses out on the education they deserve. From September this year, they will be introducing their new Learning and Wellbeing Support Hub, taking the additional support they already offer for pupils to the next level. The My Online Schooling Learning & Wellbeing Support Hub aims to provide further targeted support and direct alternatives for children with additional needs or challenges. Support Hub classes can be accessed independently from the regular My Online Schooling curriculum, or in conjunction with it - whatever is most suitable for your child at the time. Classes within the Support Hub will be kept small (no more than 12 pupils per class), with a focus on individual understanding and care.

Below is an overview of what the MOS Learning & Wellbeing Support Hub has to offer:

  • KS2 Reading & Writing Skills (with Dyslexia support)

This course is recommended for KS2 pupils with significant dyslexia, those who have missed key areas of learning in their early years, or who require extra support in accessing the English KS2 Curriculum. In these lessons, your child will be supported in developing their reading and writing skills with a focus on dyslexia support.

  • Anxiety Management Skills

These sessions aim to support pupils who experience anxiety, stress, or worry, and encourage understanding of these feelings. Run by the school counsellor, pupils will be shown strategies to help manage conditions such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Panic Attacks.

  • Social Stories

Social Stories aims to help autistic pupils understand the world around them, and explain social and practical situations in an unambiguous, literal manner. These sessions are run by an Autism Specialist and are recommended for pupils who find social understanding a challenge.

  • International GCSE Maths and English Nurture Classes

These courses are offered as a direct alternative to the My Online Schooling International GCSE English Language or Mathematics courses. In these lessons, pupils will cover the material needed to take their International GCSE English Language or Maths exams at the end of Year 11, but at a slower pace and adjusted level.
